LERT Training Event
Lutheran Early Response Team
Be Equipped to Bring Christ’s Mercy in Times of Need
Please prayerfully consider attending the LCMS Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) volunteer training.
When disaster strikes, whether in our community or around the world; Lutherans are called to be ready to respond with the mercy and compassion of Christ. This training prepares volunteers to serve safely, effectively, and in good order, offering tangible acts of mercy and spiritual care to those affected.
11:30am to 4pm
Walker Hall Dining Room
LUNCH PROVIDED!
About the Training
LERT is a Synod-wide disaster response ministry of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, coordinated through a national network of District Disaster Response Teams.
Participants will learn how to:
Serve as a Christian witness in times of crisis
Provide practical, coordinated help following disasters.
Work together with LCMS congregations and community partners
Upon completion, each participant will receive a certificate, ID badge, manual, vest, and T-shirt. These items are more than symbols; you will need these items if you respond to an LCMS LERT deployment notification.
This training is strongly recommended for anyone who has served - or plans to serve - on a mission trip, such as our upcoming trip to Mexico and Kenya in 2026. It will also be beneficial to those that serve our local outreach efforts, including Caregivers' Day Off and Fourth Saturday Food Distribution.
